MELTING & FLUXING PROCEDURE FOR COPPER BASE METAL & ALLOYS

METAL TREATMENT
High conductivity copper Melt under reducing cover of copper cleaner E. C. powder Degas with T-Logas
Deoxidies by plunging De-oxidising tube.
C.B. (Containing Calcium Boride)
Commercial Copper Melt under reducing cover of copper-cleaner powder. Degas with T - Logas. Deoxidize with De-oxidising tube 193 (containing phosphorus)
Tin-Bronze Melt charge on top of Cleanex Block B briquettes in bottom of crucible or under a cover of copper cleaner standard powder. Degass with T. Logas. Deoxidies with De-oxidising tube 193.
Leaded Tin Bronze Melt charge on top of Cleanex Block B in bottom of crucible or under a cover of Coppercleaner standard powder. Degass with T. Logas . 100 Deoxidise with De-oxidising tube 193.
Gun Metal and Leaded GunMetal Melt charge on top of cleanex Block B in bottom of crucible or under a cover of Copper-cleaner standard powder. Degas with T. Logas, plunge De-oxidising tube 193.
Phosphor Bronze Melt charge top of cleanex block 20 or under a cover of coppercleaner 20 powder. Degas with T. Logas. Plunge De-oxidising tube 193.
Brass and Leaded Brass Melt under a fluid cover of Metalcleaner 49. Plunge de-oxidising tube 193 just before pouring.
Copper-Nickel Alloys (Nickel Solders and nickel Bronze containing 12-25%) (Ni) and Monel Metal. Melt charge on top of cleanex block B or under a cover of Coppercleaner standard powder. Degass with T. Logas. Plunge De-oxidising tube Mg-6.
Brass and Leaded Brass Melt under a fluid cover of metalcleaner 49. plunge de-oxidising tube 193 just before pouring.
Tin Bronze Melt charge on top of cleanex block B briquettes in bottom of crucible or under a cover of coppercleaner standard powder. Degass with T. Logas Deoxidise with De-oxidising tube 193.
Leaded Tin Bronze Melt charge on top of Cleanex Block Bin Bottom of Crucible Or Under a cover of Coppercleaner Standard Powder, Degass with T. Logas 100 Deoxidise with De-oxidising tube 193.

Aluminum Bronze Melt under a fluid cover of Albrol. No sooner pouring temperature is reached plunge small quantities of Albrol. Degas with T -Logas. Plunge E3 Tubes (Boron Manganese) before pouring.
Manganese Bronze Melt under a fluid cover of Albrol. No sooner pouring temperature is reached plunge small quantities of Albrol. Degas with T -Logas. Plunge E3 Tubes (Boron Manganese ) before pouring.
Silicon Bronze Melt under a fluid cover of albrol. No sooner pouring temperature is reached plunge small quantities of Albrol. Degas with T-logas. Plunge Deoxidising tube E3 & 193 tube before pouring.
Commercial Gun metal and Brass Melt under cover of Metal Cleaner powder or Cleanex Block A. plunge Deoxidising tube 131 before pouring

Powder coatings must be made into a paste prior to application. After as 24hr. bulge they may be used in the necessary viscosity. Application of two thin layers instead of one thick layer is recommended.
Alcohol based coatings should be used for mould & cores containing P.F. resin alkyd base and Co2 cured binder.
